Aubrey Coco
CFD
Texas
"I was born with CFD! I began my journey at Scottish Rite where I met my best friend, Abby. I started doing leg lengthenings in Florida when I was six, and had one successful procedure, and one unsuccessful one. After a couple of fractures, I switched to a doctor in Oklahoma and learned to cope with my leg discrepancy. I can no longer have any leg lengthenings due to the hardware in my leg, but I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities I've had to connect with others and learn from my condition. now, I use a prosthetic to get around, which I love educating people about. I wouldn’t change anything for the world! All of my struggles and experiences have made me into the person I am today."

Hi my name’s Lily Pereira and I was diagnosed with PFFD (otherwise known as proximal femoral focal deficiency). This means that my left femur was born shorter than my right femur and I have had to have 16 surgeries. Some of these surgeries include limb lengthenings, hip reconstruction, hardware removal, and many others. I was also born withought any ligaments in my knee! I am a two sport varsity athlete as I play field hockey and softball. In field hockey I am a goalie and in softball I play first base!
